BOTH SIDES NOW- JANUARY 8th, 2011

Returning from a holiday hiatus, the women showed no signs of rust. Mary thought that repeal of “Obamacare” drove the elections and should be #1 on the House floor – while Arianna in effect said, 'Boehner where are the jobs?' The women had fun with their "Predictions 2011" -- involving the Superbowl, Oscars, and an Obama-Boehner golf match. But they found consensus on Issa, Oprah, Vick & Facebook. Listen here:

BOTH SIDES NOW- DECEMBER 18th, 2010

As half of Obama's term ends, three big questions dominate this week's show (listen below): if tax rates are at their lowest in 50 years and the concentration of income & wealth at their highest, how can more income and inheritance tax cuts be justified? Should the Senate in January reject automatic filibusters as the new normal? Is Palin a celebrity or a candidate? Also, sitting in for a traveling Arianna, Salon's Joan Walsh and Mary agree about Holbrooke's brilliance, King's legacy -- and spar over whether speaker-to-be John Boehner has a big heart or a big problem, for crying out loud. BOTH SIDES NOW- DECEMBER 11th, 2010

On this week's show, the women each argue that the Obama-GOP tax-deal was a “capitulation” but for precisely opposite reasons. They also clash about whether WikiLeaks is about speech or security, how serious the deficit problem is, and what the Supreme Court should do in the ATT and Wal-Mart class action cases. But they together applaud a possible tax overhaul push in 2011 and Edwards’s courage with cancer...and provide their best-of recommendations on books & film for 2010. Listen here:
